Just a quick post to point out why the film is called the 'Philosopher's Stone' outside of America--JK Rowling's book was originally titled 'Harry Potter and the philosopher's stone', which makes sense as the Philosopher's Stone of the title is a staple of alchemical theory. For some reason, the publishers decided to change its name for the American release.
