ok people, i'm as big a williams fan as most of you. that's why i was appalled to hear the piece most of you rave over... please compare hedwig's theme to "aquarium" from Camille Saint-Saens' Carnival of the Animals. obvious inspiration or dire nead of a rip off? you tell me.

Absurd comment to call it a ripoff. Has literally nothing in common with the Aquarium unless you stoop so far as calling 2 pieces that have a kind of celeste sound, ripoffs of each other.

I'd say the similarities with Hedwig's Theme are stylistic, not melodic. The prologue music from Disney's Beauty and the Beast, on the other hand, is as blatant a ripoff of Aquarium as you can find.
