Sublime!   Wednesday, September 22, 2004 (9:56 a.m.)

Hero was a truly sublime film experience; a visual and auditory feast that served to satiate one's deepest longings. The myriad of auras woven within the film's tapestry raised film art and cinematography to new heights evoking feelings of awe and wonder. Tan Dun's effort was more emotionally accessible to me then Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon with Itzhak Pearlman's haunting violin the tapestry's unifiying thread. The tracks "For the World", "Love in Distance" and "Yearning for the Peace" present the main theme in full flower and are very moving. I hope for future opportunities to experience the artistic efforts of both Zhang Yimou and Tan Dun. Well Done!
