Song during final credits?   Tuesday, October 30, 2001 (8:28 p.m.)

Enjoyed the score, but I was wondering about the song during the final credits. I don't believe that it would be by Shearmur. Female vocal, very different from the score, and somewhat familiar. Can anyone help me with this?

According *to* the final credits (any copyrighed work that makes an appearance in a film must be mentioned in the credits), it's "Safe and Sound" written and performed by Sheryl Crow.

The song at the end of the movie is not by Sheryl Crow but is not in the credits , I have hit rewind on the dirty VCR about 15 times looking for it, but yet it is not there. The lyrics from "Safe and Sound" do not correspond to what is in the movie. The lyrics in the movie are often played on the radio and include lines such as "And tell me, did Venus blow your mind, was it everything you wanted to find to see the lights are faded, and that heaven is overrated." These lyrics are not to be found in "Safe and Sound." If anyone knows the song that REALLY IS in the credits of K-Pax, please provide your insight.

Not located in the DVD is the song "Drops of Jupiter" by Train. I have seen many e-mails on this, and I myself have wondered so I looked it up and found it is on the VHS made in the 1st year, but not after that. Also, it was heard in the movies at the time of release. I hope this can help anyone who is looking for an answer to this seemingly answerless mystery.

I agree. The end credits song is "Safe and Sound" by Sheryl Crow. It is said almost at the ending of the credits.

Safe and Sound (Sheryl Crow, 2002)   Sunday, October 20, 2013 (4:33 p.m.)

Absolutely. There is no question about the origins of the song.

The mystifying part concerns the studio mix - which is far less layered/ processed than the commercial version on the album: "C'mon, C'mon" (2002).

I became immediately mesmerized by the song, and have chased the origins endlessly. What I have come up with is the studio version on the album, which has a heavy grunge track underlying the lead vocals. At first, I couldn't stand it...but after review, I became so hooked on it that now I actually prefer it.

For those more interested in the film credits mix (which I have found absolutely no explanation for, or origins) go to:

And Enjoy !
