Horner has written a score that goes well with the film and is ok on cd but i have had enough of horner using the same themes with the same instruments over and over and over again, and these themes he uses in every soundtrack arent even that good! Horner is the most uninspiring composer in hollywood today and the fact he was my favourite composer when i was a lot younger, it hurts to say that he is now my worst composer. Everytime I read that Horner is going to score a film I cross my fingers and hope for the best only once again to be totally let down except for maybe 1 or 2 snipets out of a score. For you Horner fans that love his stuff still, good luck to you but dont let the fact that your a fan of him detract from truely giving his music an honest listen. If you still find it fantastic, well good on you! I'm hoping Horner's score for a New World will be a totally original and inspiring score. I can only hope! Zimmer was spose to do it which would have been great because he worked with Terrance Mallick on the Thin Red Line which was a great movie and score. A good little score that is available is Jade Empire which is a video game. It's composed by Jack Wall and its set in Japan so there is really good percussion peices and just beautiful themes. Worth the buy I rekon. Have fun people!!!
