If you would pick up the LOTR books and dig a bit deeper into it, you'd find out that LOTR is about alot more than destroying a ring. LOTR has a whole different scale to it in comparison with Star Wars or Harry Potter. You're bashing something you've no idea about. Trust me, there's so much love of detail in these three LOTR movies that just overruns Potter as well as Star Wars.
But this is about music and you have to consider that these movies of this immense depth and detail and this huge background require a big and bold style of scoring. The choral parts of the score consist of poems directly taken from Tolkien, which have been translated into Quenya, Sindarin, Dwarvish or Black Speech only for these films. Other poems have been written and translated exclusively for the movies. Shore already worked for years on this and is still writing music, so only considering the time and care flown into these scores Lord Of The Rings can be described as a superior score to both, Potter and Star Wars.
And the quality of the result is out of question.
