Harry Potter wins by far. It is a much more interesting, complex, and musically mature score. It is Williams' best effort in many many years. I love it for its incredible magic and original orchestrations. LoTR on the other hand is not loveable in any way. It sounds like a mediocre score from a mediocre composer. Just what I expected. Too bad really. Oh well. At least other people seem to be able to enjoy it.
