I have noticed with the last two LotR soundtracks that the song "Aniron" composed and performed by Enya as the theme for Aragorn and Arwen in Fellowship, is missing. I know there were probably legal issues on using the song on the other two movies, but it would present a much more flowing trilogy if it were used. It was a tranquil, beautiful song and scored the love scene perfectly. Shore has hints of it in the track "Return of the King" when Aragorn and Arwen unite, but never releases the full theme with strings or a solo voice. It would have worked quite well.
Adding to that, it would also have been nicer for the three songs in the movies to be incorporated into one another. We don't hear either "May it Be" or "Gollum's Song" much (if at all) in the first two films. "Into the West", an excellent song in my opinion appears in very heroic and noble passages in the RotK score, but the other two are never heard again. This would have been another excellent thing for Shore to have done.
