It has been confirmed! the upcoming aviator score has been recorded in belgium by the flemisch radio orchestra conducted by maestro dirk brossť ( he conducted the 75th goldsmith tribute concert in london and was conductor for the elliot goldenthal score ' final fantasy' ) - there was a live internet video-audio link with director martin scorsese who suggested last minute changes!!! It sounded as it was a very cool collaboration. Everything went well and Shore is already back in the U.S. There has been a lot of speculation why Shore used this orchestra instead of dosens of orchestra's present in the U.S. Well, there are 2 reasons. First of all, Shore worked with the orchestra earlier this year performing his lord of the rings cyclus in Ghent. Word has that he was very pleased with the high level the musicians were playing on - second reason; apparently, the belgian musicians are champions in reading sheetmusic at sight. Now, you will ask yourselves! how the hell do you know all of this...wel, I live in Ghent and I really LOVE scores!!!
anyway, great news and I can't wait to hear the aviator! Because I think the score Shore wrote for return of the king is beyond words GREAT!!! it transcendents average music and takes it to an artistic level!
