Why do people have to rant so much about uninteresting soundtrack reviews here? I don't seem to find any literary source that says this particular CD should be noted for it's significance, even if it has some sort of hype (which it doesn't), so I consider it a waste of attention for Christian to review it. Besides, look for any film specialist that can agree with Mortal Kombat being a notable example of cinema. Honestly, there's no point in giving a dead serious analysis for a film like MK, so it's forgivable that the reviewer has some fun when writing.
Bottom line is both the score and movie are sad pieces of trash that almost beg to be scrutinized. Why would you bother defending them?
