Excerpt from the Tracksounds Review of The Mummy Returns>

"Even though The Mummy Returns shares many of the same musical elements with The Mummy it actually bares little resemblance to the first film's score. While Jerry Goldsmith's work became very popular with Goldsmith devotees, it was judged as average by most other film music fans. Only the smallest artifacts of Jerry Goldsmith's original theme can be found in the sequel's score. Silvestri's work is full of the matinee-infused-adventure music anticipated with the first film, but sadly not delivered."
