Comments about the soundtrack for The Name of the Rose (James Horner)

I think this score is very underpreciated. I have listened to it and I think it deserves more credit that it has earned. To some it may not be James Horner's best but sometimes you need to think about how the score fits the film and not how good the score is. You could have a score that is not good but it fits a film perfectly. In my opinion there is more than just the sound to this score. There is an atmosphere and an ambiance that is being portrayed here and to me it makes a great forgotten score. Out of five stars I would still give it a four, even though most would probably give it a one or two.
