Forgive me for taking this space up for a dumb question, but I was wondering, will there be a score release to Mark Mancina's new score "Training Day?" I really want to see the movie and it's been a while since Mancina produced a score. If you saw the movie, how does the score sound in the film?

PS. What are Zimmer and Powell schedueld to score in the future. I know Zimmer is scoring Black Hawk Dawn, but what else. And what is John Powell scoring next? I really want to hear another action score from him. I thought Face/Off was really cool.

Thanks for any info on these questions!
Have A Nice Day

Hi!

I can tell you that John Powell is working on "Pluto Nash" and
"Eye See You". He scored "Rat Race" which was shown in July.

Hans Zimmer recently scored "Riding in Cars with Boys", and is working on "Black Hawn Down" and "Spirit: Stallion of Cimarron".

Regards,
Andre

Good news:

Hans Zimmer is co-scoring Harrison Ford's upcoming submarine thriller, K-19: THE WIDOWMAKER (with MediaVenture alum Klaus Badelt) and Dreamwork's SPIRIT.

John Powell scored the unusually absent EYE SEE YOU/DETOX (starring Stallone), and will score the upcoming Matt Damon spy movie THE BOURNE IDENTITY (originally slated to be scored by Carter Burwell).

As for Mancina's score to TRAINING DAY, it's not that great. It's similar to his ASSASSINS, in that it lacks depth and any sort of theme. It works well in the movie though, because a typical MV score wouldn't fit. It's worth getting the 2CD bootleg though.
