I finally got myself to shell out 30 dollars for the expanded version of the Phantom Menace. All and all it is not a bad buy although over priced. I mean, hello, the DVD only costs 22 dollars. The additional music clearly makes this a must buy for Star Wars fans. However it should dissapoint all William's fans. Not that it is a bad CD but that because Sony cheated us out of two essential features that the RCA/VICTOR Expanded Editions, of the Original Trilogy, so thoughtfully included. One: I was dissapointed that the Concert Suite for character themes were not included (ex.Anakin's Theme). Second: Where is the musical write up on the score explaining each use of theme, the instruments played, etc... I love following the booklet along while listening to each track. It was both an enjoyable and enlightening experience.

Oh well. At least they have a nice book which includes many pictures from the movie...BUT IF I WANTED TO LOOK AT PICTURES I'D WATCH THE MOVIE OR GO BUY A PICTURE BOOK! Sorry. Anyways the overall packaging is very nice and the addition of when Qui-Gon first meets Darth Maul and when Annakin Leaves home are welcomed additions into my music library.
Concert Suite CD B+ Expanded Edition B+
(Would have been an A if they included those two little things. But in the great scheme of things...Who Cares?)
