I totally agree. I dug out my original soundtrack after listening to the movie soundtrack over and over. The original sounds so bland and perfect compared to the movie. Where is the emotion? Especially in the Down Once More track. They Phantom is at the end of his rope, he is frustrated and doing all he can do to hang on to Christine, Gerard Butler's voice portrays this anguish - Michael Crawford, yes he has an excellent voice, but he seems to have no emotion in his voice.

And personally, I prefer Emmy Russum to Sarah Brightman, Brightmans voice has never appealed to me, but Russum has the innocent appeal that fits the character.

In my opinion it it perfect.
