Peter Karrie's statement on Melanie and Louise Somers

I wish it to be known to whoever takes the time to read their diatribes, that I have never - repeat, never - had any association with this obviously mentally disturbed young lady other than as performer meets fan at the stage door (and I am always grateful to meet people who take the time to come to the stage door). I have no interest (and have never had any interest) in this girl in any way, shape or form; sexual, friendship, or whatever.

I catergorically and utterly refute all of their claims and accusations. The only reason Melanie Somers and her mother Louise persist with these outrageous claims is to attempt to blackmail me into calling them. They wish to speak with me personally, and believe that their threats and actions will cause me to call, as they have explicitly stated in many of their posts.

I also wish it to be known that Christine DaaƩ, a very trusted and true friend, has kept me informed of all of the twists and turns of this unfortunate episode. She has been honest and true throughout, for which I am extremely grateful.

In an attempt to sort out this ridiculous situation, I had agreed that I would call Melanie from the theatre where I'm currently rehearsing. In the light of the viciousness of their recent statements and accusations, I do not see the point in doing so and have no wish to communicate with them whatsoever.

If this maliciousness continues, I will employ a solicitor in Canada, and I will pursue Melanie and Louise until they make a statement admitting that there was no wrongdoing in my relationship with their daughter. I will be seeking a retraction and an exoneration at the highest level.
