I couldn't believe it ... but ...   Wednesday, December 15, 2004 (2:00 p.m.)

... it IS really as bad as Clemmie says.

I just finished it and ... well ... I returned to some points to make sure I didn't just hallucinate ...

The famous Phantom song alone ... WOW ... pathetic mixing, the organ is played REALLY bad, 80s CLAPPING SOUNDS(!) without reverberation out of the blue and I didn't even touch the vocal performance.

Shallow ... AT BEST. And I'm only speaking of Christine.

The Phantom is crap. His voice MAY be good enough for a garage-rock band, but PEOPLE, we're talking of the PHANTOM OF THE OPERA.

I have nothing against re-interpretation and I would even say the original isn't flawless ... but this indeed feels like a school play.

2 shiny silver frisbees.

Mac

Totally agree with you, the movie version is a disaster, why can't they just keep the same sequence as the musical, but introduce stupid mixing and rearrange fighting music (martial art don't work in phantom)

I going back to my London cast recording

Bogus!! Gerard Butler did a great job. He was really good for someone who's never sung before. Emmy Rossum was wonderful as well. This soundtrack was better than any of the rest.
People need to take a good look at this version.
Butler was amazing people LIVE WITH IT!!

yeah he was great for someone who has never sung before but that's not good enough the phantom is supposed to sound like an angel (literally) and well butler just...doesn't. doesn't even come close.
