I agree with both you and ethan. I feel that the original reviewer was expecting too much from a disney summer blockbuster. I am a die-hard POTC fan and i feel part of this is because of the music. I feel that with another composer the music would not have the same moving effect. And for those of you who feel this is not swashbuckling enough, perhaps you need to listen to it again. The music was perfect for the right parts. Pirates lived an action packed, powerful life, which is exactly what this music is . Some scores you can never remember, and are in the movie just so there isn't quiet time. With POTC the music is part of the movie. Hans Zimmer was not in this project just for the money. If he was, it would not be the moving, sensational piece of art that it is. Pirates of the Caribbean is a powerful, trilling movie, and so is the music.
