I have to say, Hans Zimmer really inpressed me the most with this film score for the third instalment of Pirates. I really think people need to look at Zimmer's music and see how far it has come along. Unlike the movies, Zimmer's scores got better each time.
This soundtrack is amazing in the amount of action music and the new love theme was spectacular. #11 has got to be one of the best songs I have ever heard. It is constant in bombastic like sound, and with this score, I am most impressed that Zimmer brought back the Trumpets, which was crucial.
I would give this score a 4 out of 5 star score. Hans Zimmer did a tremendous job on the music, and personally, I think if he had the choice, he would have left out the guitar, but Jerry and Gore wanted it bad, so he made the best of it, based on the action.

And people really wonder why I'm so vehement in my criticism against Zimmer?
The statement about the trumpets alone shows the mindblowing lack of understanding for music that Zimmer constantly appeals to.

What if one day, probably far away, Zimmer uses harp and celeste? Will you wet yourself?

I'm sorry for the sharp sarcasm, but otherwise I wouldn't be able to take it.

Are you kidding me?! lol, do you really think that the harp is necessary for a movie that is epic like Pirate's 3?
Zimmer probably does not use harp in his scores because he does not like harp, or does not fit with his style.
Zimmer uses a lot of drums, very little piano, very,very little trumpet, he uses male choir a lot; and a lot of strings like in Invincible. Why? Because that is Zimmer's style of writing music. At least he is consistant!

And NEVER, EVER forget the horns!
