I strongly disagree   Saturday, May 28, 2011 (12:28 a.m.)
• Now Playing: POTC 4 - The Pirate That Should Not Be

I have read all the comments and the review. While I can agree with some of the criticisms, I strongly disagree that this soundtrack is so bad. Contrary, I have heard it several times and found it very listenable. Also, I created the playlist to skip remixes and track 3 (Mutiny)

And you don't think it's worrying in the least when you have to omit 3/4 of an album to create a decent listening experience?

When one needs to cut out 75% of all tracks until you can bear the album, it's not exactly "listenable".

I don't think it's worrying at all. To be honest, I usually do that. I find that film music has two purposes. First is to serve the film that it was made fore and second to live independent life, and for some listeners, to revoke memories of the corresponding film. I usually find that some tracks are excellent for the scene, but not for my ears.
Even when it comes to classical music, especially recitals, I give myself luxury to skip some tracks. That is one of the advantages of listening recorded music over live performances.
GK, please don't get me wrong, I agree that HZ could do things MUCH better, and hope to see extended edition one day. My guess is that HZ did not have enough time. I heard him, in more than one of his interviews, that he is having problem with deadlines.

He doesn't have problems with deadlines, he has severe problems with dead lines.
