I did not like Poltergeist, the movie, very much but Goldsmith's music is really good! This soundtrack mustn't be missing in any Goldsmith collection!

A Masterpiece!   Saturday, April 28, 2007 (8:36 a.m.)
• Now Playing: King Solomon's Mines

This score is what got me interested in Jerry Goldsmith's film music. Ever since seeing this film when I was kid, I was always enthralled by the music in the film. Needless to say when the soundtrack was finally released on cd in 1997, I was more than excited. Goldsmith wrote a masterpiece here and it deserves a 5 star rating, not 3.

Actually, it got 4, but I agree with you. Goldsmith at his intellectual and emotional best; easily my favorite Goldsmith score.
