Saw the movie opening weekend and listened to the score after hearing it in context - usually I do things the other way around. Not the biggest fan of Pemberton (and I wish he'd leaned a hair more on the orchestral brass and woodwinds to compliment the lovely layers of chorus and strings), but the groovy percussion he's so fond of lends itself really well to Rocky's chipper attitude, and the religioso choral portions are absolutely wonderful other than a slightly muddy mix. Pleasantly surprised by this one, very much in the running for my end-of-year highlight list.
