While I do not claim to be an expert of the complex interweaving of sound that comprises a 'soundtrack' I know that if I can consciously hear the music, if I am interrupted in my enjoyment of the film, then someone failed in his or her effort.
In 'Pumpkin' I found the score to be unobtrusive, and strangely supportive of the current thematic content of the film.
The only thing that stood out were two songs, one by Emiliani Torrini, and the other by 'Gentle Waves’ (??)
I do NOT usually search for a soundtrack, much less within 20 minutes of watching the film. Let this be an indicator, if you will, of just how much I liked the soundtrack, AND the score.
Much to my surprise, Torrini also performed 'Gollum's Song' Gentle Waves I have not found yet.
The film?
Film snobs won't like it, but as I disagree with most of the ratings on this site, I say, the hell with them, I know what *I* like, and I LIKED 'Pumpkin'
It's on Bravo this week, and worth the time...I didn't even get up to get another beer! (OMG! a BEER!?! - Imagine that - not a wine cooler! elitist snobs I tell 'ya! watch the movie...it's good.)
