Like Christian's review says, this is indeed a slow, but ultimately rewarding score. I was shocked to find that no one has commented on it. But then again, it's the action scores like "Kingdom of Heaven" and "Batman Begins" that tend to get all the discussion. In addition to all of the cues mentioned in the review, the two "Ray's Hymn" cues are quite lovely, as well. The dialogue is sometimes annoying, but not a major detraction, in my mind. Interesting that they picked dialogue from so many darker sequences in the film, perhaps to accompany the constantly somber music. It's a depressing listen, but a very good one.
