From my experiences with listening to Doyle's music, it seems he's come quite a ways. I really enjoyed his score to Goblet of Fire (at least on album) and I also found Eragon to be a reasonable experience as well. Thor was his most explosive work, and also wasn't bad either. I just got Rise of the Planet of the Apes, and I'm quite eager to listen to it; from the review, it sounds quite action-packed.
It's just too bad Doyle hasn't achieved a 5 star score just yet. It seems that we're all rooting for him now; even the reviewer acknowledges in a few of his reviews that we're waiting for Doyle to write some truly 5 star worthy material.
Can't wait.

Although I'm not sure whether I'd call La Ligne Droite Doyle's best score, necessarily. I enjoyed his two blockbuster scores this year more (though that might just be because my tastes tend to be action-oriented).
