Very insightful look into the production of the whole thing. I was pretty confused reading a wide range of accounts and seeing three different composers, one of whom apparently wrote almost none of the final product, one (Zimmer) writing the good parts, and the other writing the bad parts and having too big an ego for his name to appear onscreen to a Zimmer tune. Cutting off your nose to spite your face, well at least now I know who wrote the listenable parts of the CD hodgepodge. I agree with Zimmer 100%, the CD is garbage, doesn't follow the film at all and it seems like a completely random combination of the various (good and bad) themes in the film. Sounds like Hans had to come in and rescue the whole project and the official release of the soundtrack was butchered by the usual Hollywood post-production types. Well I'm downloading as much of the raw material as I could still find at 50 KB/s from some Russian pirate site cause I sure as hell am not giving any Russians or Chinese my credit card number so I'll take the 5 hour slow download, and I'll let you know my further thoughts once I have some pre-butcher material.
