Given that both Seabiscuit and Finding Nemo are almost certainly assured of a Best Original Score nomination, I was wondering whether, in previous years, any of the Newman family of film composer has competed with one of their own at the Academy Awards in previous years. I know Alfred Newman competed against himself numerous times, but have David, Randy or Thomas ever been nominated in the same category in the same year?

Randy was nominated for Toy Story and Thomas for Unstrung Heroes in 1995 (animated/musical/comedy genre), and Thomas competed against himself in 1994 for Little Women and The Shawshank Redemption.
