Thats all they ever do with these scores. Expand! Expand! Expand! Why would you expand a soundtrack with almost all the major memerable themes and cues. Star Trek: The Motion Picture is one of the most boring Star Trek Films of all time next to The Final Fronter and Inserection. I do fell sorry for Goldsmith though. He gets all the bad Star Trek Films to score. Really the only thing thats missing from the OST is the transporter malfunktion.
Now look at other scores in the Star Trek saga. Star Trek II could use "Shuttle Approach" and "Kirk Strikes Back". Star Trek III Desperatly needs work. It is almost 16 minutes shorter than II minus the stupid techno track. It's missing these Memorable tracks "McCoy's Insanity" "Genesis Sundown" "Destruct Sequence, The Enterprise's Final Glory" (really need those) and "Genesis Armogeden" IV has all the horible music with it. V is OK Could have more material towards the end. IV really needs the cue whare the Enterprise leaves dock. Generations is pretty complete. First Contact really needs "The Escape pod" Inserection has no memorable tracks... Nemesis Desperatly needs "The Argo" "Prepare for battle" and "Full Reverce" Horner's scores and Fist Contact, Nemesis are the ones Paramount really need to Expand. With Star Trek's Rising popularity with the new movie, what better time to so it than now?

I believe Christian has been posting since the mid ninties so there has been a lot of time for this site to build up a lot of differing opinions and perspectives but I think, out of all of the huge volume of utterly craptastic drivel that's been posted here over the years, this is the by far the stupidest take I've ever read. Congratulations and may Cthulhu have mercy on your soul.
