Your certainly right. But the same approach by Goldsmith would have been equally good, but at least we would have had the fantastic Star-Trek theme. Because, in the end, it's that theme that one would associate with StarTrek.
Nevertheless, Without the film the score is very listnable and sometimes very beatyfull.
