Baffling Oscar nom

It is baffling to me that, aside from Jerry Goldsmith's score for the original film, this was the only Trek score nominated for an Oscar. But that's just how lame the Academy is. Had James Horner been 10 more years into his career, ST2 might have been nominated as it should have. Michael Giacchino may have been nominated for the 2009 movie if he hadn't also done Up that year, for which he won.
