• Now Playing: Jerry Goldsmith's The 13th Warrior

I remember seeing The Swarm in theaters when I was a young child. It scared me then, because I was impressionable and just excited to be in a theatre watching a movie. It contributed to an irrational fear of being stung by pollinators that took me decades to overcome. Now I recognize the film's many flaws and overwrought performances, but watching this movie with my dad is still a pleasant childhood memory. Still, there had been at least two "killer bee" movies released by 1978, so I don't understand why Allen chose to retread a well-worn plot. He should have taken a cue from David Cronenberg and devised a wholly original biological threat...like sex parasites.

Because there probably aren't even 3000 people who'd want it. Or, look at it this way, I bought mind from Prometheus recently, so it's still available. So don't bitch.
