Re: What's the bloody use of creating only 3000 CDs for a whole planet I remember seeing The Swarm in theaters when I was a young child. It scared me then, because I was impressionable and just excited to be in a theatre watching a movie. It contributed to an irrational fear of being stung by pollinators that took me decades to overcome. Now I recognize the film's many flaws and overwrought performances, but watching this movie with my dad is still a pleasant childhood memory. Still, there had been at least two "killer bee" movies released by 1978, so I don't understand why Allen chose to retread a well-worn plot. He should have taken a cue from David Cronenberg and devised a wholly original biological threat...like sex parasites.
