I decided not to belive each word in any review I read not only on this site but generally. People enjoy different things - it's the main rule. Form me Tears of The Sun is a great Zimmer's return worth ***** which gave me GREAT pleasure while listening. Each and every track is on its place and helps to buit a consistent mood with the greatest to come in tracks 9 and 10. Track 1 and 3 are also outstanding and I don't have a feeling that each track is composed by someone else. In fact this kind of approach (more than one composer) resulted in outstanding diversity in themes but still the mood remains consistent. And the album IS fully cohesive. The old Zimmer style mixed with new elements. That is why we have a mix of Thin Red Line, The Power of One,Black Hawk Down and Lion King which rises into new quality - Tears of the Sun - which is a great score.
This is my opinion and no review can change this.
My advice is you shouldn't take everyting to heart whether you love or hate that score. It's the matter of one's individual taste and no review can change you approach
