The old Tintin theme was better   Friday, December 23, 2011 (3:22 p.m.)

The Tintin theme composed for the television series was a far better melody for Tintin than what John Williams has come up with:

John Williams theme is miles ahead of that mediocre drivel.

And of course, you would say the same if I had presented a Beethoven symphony without naming the composer.

I think the old tintin theme had it's charms, and it presented a great deal of my childhood memories. The score from Williams is great, but i was a bit dissapointed when i first heard it. I wanted too hear that great old tintin theme from the series again. But after a few listens i saw that Williams his score is as always briliant, and is way better then the soundtrack from the series.

As a completely objective listener--I don't know anything about the Tintin franchise--I can say Williams's music is far superior to any of the old music from the TV series. I can understand someone's desire to hear that old Tintin theme again, but in any objective analysis, Williams's music comes out on top (which is no insult to the old composer).
