Well I am a big fan of Zimmer (very big), but if I had to choose a composer to score my waraction movie and I wanted full orchestra, I would pick Horner.
Zimmer is better for character war dramas, as Yhe Thin Red Line. But not for war action, I'm afraid it would be too electronic. Thia aort of scores need full orchestra.
