Winged Migration is a beautiful film that leaves the viewer with a haunting feeling that is both wonderful and bittersweet! The passion felt for the birds and their migration with all its hardships and endurance and the short life of many of these wonderful creatures cannot help but make you feel many emotions! Bruno Coulais' music makes these emotions easier and more identifiable throughout the film and the beautiful "To Be By Your Side" at the end for the credits brings tears to your eyes!
This is a film you MUST see to understand and truly appreciate! It is NOT just a bird movie! The producer was not looking to educate but rather make us appreciate nature's winged rulers of the skies and the migratory lives many lead in their quest for survival.
You will not regret seeing it! I paid to see it 4 times, and will buy the DVD as well. I have never paid to see a film more than once previous to Winged Migration!

Forgot to mention that I DID buy the Winged Migration Soundtrack as well. It is great! Highly recommended! I wouldn't call it "relaxing' though... the emotions it evokes are intense and even sad but definitely the music is an artistic masterpiece that added power and definition to an already powerful and intense movie! It works about as well as one could imagine!
But that said... how the heck did Michael Moore's film win the Oscar over Winged Migration??? It is a very difficult world to understand sometimes! (Or was Hollywood taking a dislike to anything French this year?)
