The best score of 2024   Thursday, February 27, 2025 (5:14 p.m.)

When I posted in the Scoreboard about my top 10 of 2024, I wrote this:

Young Woman and the Sea - It's not complicated but it is perfection in its genre. Not all the subthemes make sense to me but it doesn't matter. Soundtracks rarely make me feel really good about life but this one brings me happiness every time.

Thank you, Christian for this review!

I never heard of the movie before until I saw Christian's nominations. I listened to some tracks on YT and it almost immediately wormed it's way into my ear.

It's not a demanding score, but gosh, it is so uplifting. In that way it's really a successor to great sports scores like 'Chariots of Fire'.

Some of it also reminds me of the 'leaving port' tracks from Titanic.
