In these indices, you will find comprehensive and comparative information about each review at
Filmtracks. Categorized by the year of each album's release, the listings are automatically updated
upon the addition of new content to Filmtracks or, in the case of the statistics for each review,
every night. Because film scores often have multiple album releases spread over several years, it's
not uncommon to find a score listed in multiple years. For specialty releases involving multiple
albums or composers for the same score (as well as rejected alternatives), these indeces provide
information only about the specific album(s) released during the calendar year.
Remember, this is not an arrangement by calendar year, so don't use these indeces as a basis to judge
awards eligibility. Some feature films released in a December are accompanied within a few weeks by a
score album released in January, and thus the listing here is categorized in the year following the
theatrical classification (the sum of these is relatively small and they can be determined easily by
viewing the "Year" category in the "Regular Releases" section). Each year's listings are divided into
"Regular Releases" (standard commercial albums released to coincide with the score's debut on screen),
"Special Releases" (re-issues, delayed, limited, promotional, non-American, or bootleg albums, among
others), and "Compilations" (which are self-explanatory).
Due to the complexity of the index format, a legend is provided on each page to explain the
abbreviations and codes used. Additional information about the reviews and the process of their
creation and arrangement can be found at the main index for

About the Site section.
