Well, hi I'm Olivia and I live in Calgary, Alberta. I first fell in love with film music when I first listened to Jerry Goldsmith's brilliant score for Star Trek: Insurrection-Original GNP release-and since then I have loved pretty much everything Goldsmith scored (except for Link, which always makes me giggle).
My favorite score is Titanic by James Horner, mostly because my late grandmother (a HUGE Titanic and lost ships buff) loved the film and its music. She mostly raised me because my father was always working and my mom didn't know the first thing about raising kids, she could barely look after herself.
Anyway, enough sadness, back to the music.
My top twenty favorite composers are (Drumroll please):
1 Jerry Goldsmith
2 James Horner
3 John Barry
4 Leonard Rosenman
5 Michael Kamen
6 Cliff Eidelman
7 Dennis McCarthy
8 Michael Giacchino
9 Alan Silvestri
10 John Williams
11 Jay Chattaway
12 John Powell
13 David Arnold
14 Basil Poledouris
15 Marco Beltrami
16 Georges Delerue
17 Paul Baillargeon
18 John Ottman
19 Ennio Morricone
and
20 Thomas Newman
My top 5 favorite scores are:
1 Titanic by James Horner
2 Somewhere In Time by John Barry
3 The Black Stallion Returns by Georges Delerue
4 How To Train Your Dragon 2 by John Powell
and
5 Star Trek: First Contact by Jerry Goldsmith
Aside from film music I love horses, whales, films, astronomy, physics, the sea and taking long hikes in nature
I am a huge Trekker and I love all things Star Trek except for Discovery, Picard and Lower Decks (Though, I do like Chris Westlake's scores for that show).
I could tell a lot more about myself, but I don't want to bore everyone to death
Live Long and Prosper.
