I was born in 1974 and live in Paris, France. I teach at the University and specialize in American Literature.

My first soundtrack albums (vinyls!) were "E.T.", "Gremlins", and "Batman"-- pretty good start, ain't it? I do like classical music (esp the Strauss family, Mozart, Wagner), but mainly (99.9999%) listen to film music-- even while working (I know some people can't).

You'll find a more about my early film score albums in my 1000th post: http://www.filmtracks.com/scoreboard/main.cgi?read=65636

My favorite composers are John Williams and Jerry Goldsmith (in chronological order of discovery). Others: Danny Elfman, James Horner, Bruce Broughton, Hans Zimmer, John Barry, ...

As for my favorite scores & cues, I tried doing such a list once and it's way too difficult to limit yourself to a certain number. Here's the result, but it's far from complete: http://www.filmtracks.com/scoreboard/main.cgi?read=41504 A longer list: http://www.filmtracks.com/scoreboard/main.cgi?read=41430

Other interests: - literature, obviously-- classics, Crichton, King, Asimov, Lovecraft, ... - movies-- Spielberg, Disney, Burton, Eastwood, Cameron, Donner, ... - Disney comic books and a couple of French (well, some are Belgian, actually, but they are in French...) bandes dessinées (Blake et Mortimer, Lucky Luke, Astérix, Tintin, Ric Hochet, Chick Bill...); I discovered Alan Moore's great comics / graphic novels thanks to From Hell.

To end with a smile (well, I hope), here are - a film-score-only tale: http://www.filmtracks.com/scoreboard/main.cgi?read=47785 - a couple of emoticons I've created to widen the range of emotions in messages: http://bobcat74.free.fr/obemoticons/obemoticons.htm

All the best,

livier
