Yes. I haven't listened to "these guys" but stuff like "Warriors of the Silver Screen" and "The Fantasy Album" were formative anthologies for me. They mixed old scores and new, introducing me to golden age composers. They offered orchestral, acoustic versions of scores that had been digitally enhanced in the film, introducing me to the difference that orchestration and recording can make. Great stuff.
