Now Playing: Friday, May 27   Thursday, May 26, 2022 (11:30 p.m.)

Mentioned last week that I was going through all my #1s in loose reverse chronology.

Wednesday I got to:
Life of Pi (Danna)
The Last Airbender (Howard)

Yesterday got to:
War Horse (Williams)
How to Train Your Dragon 2 (Powell, deluxe edition)

Had skipped over War Horse because I couldn't remember whether that or Tintin had taken the top spot for that year, and skipped over HTTYD2 because I hadn't had the chance to break open the expansion. It's...good? Lol I mean the score was already great to me and while there were a few new cues that were really good, there's not a whole lot I feel like the expansion added. Still, I never actually bought this score previously, and it matches my expanded album for the first one, so maybe when Powell releases Hidden World in full I can complete the set.

Pop Quiz: When I acquire the Hidden World deluxe edition (whenever it's released), it'll be one of two film franchises in which I own every score in the series. Can you name the one I currently have? (Hint, it's not an obvious pick.) Additionally, there was one other series I owned every score of, but then they made another movie, can you name that franchise?

Man, I can even derail and belabor a simple "Now Playing" post! Today I'll be pushing into the 2000s:
Drag Me to Hell (Young)
Ponyo on the Cliff (Hisaishi)
Atonement (Marianelli)

And maybe whatever new releases we may be getting this weekend, all I see so far is S2 of Blake Neely's The Flight Attendant. Doesn't look like the Kenobi theme is getting a proper release yet...

What are you listening to?

Also Tim Davies’ Bob’s Burgers (Spotify doesn’t seem to be crediting him), and (sort of) Kris Bower’s We Own This City.

> What are you listening to?

TMNT (Klaus Badelt)
Love Actually (Craig Armstrong)

Nope and nope. Don't actually own any of the scores in either series.

Umm... Rambo? I also want to be totally cheeky and say the Cronenberg/Shore collaborations. tongue But you did say "franchise", so I guess that doesn't count.

Indiana Jones? Or is "made another movie" in the past tense?

What, no love for Zimmer & Friends with Top Gun: Maverick? wink

> What are you listening to?

Not sure yet. Will know later today.

Lol nope. Don't own any of the Rambo scores

Past tense. I don't currently have all the Indy scores and the new one won't change that wink

> What, no love for Zimmer & Friends with Top Gun: Maverick? wink

Lol oh yeah.

• Now Playing: The Rocketeer - Horner

Starting the morning with "The Rocketeer" by Horner. I listened to this fairly recently, but dammit I was it again. That main theme... just awesome. After that, will switch gears and have some 70s schlocky fun with Goldsmith's "The Swarm". B-E-E indeed. If I have any time left maybe "Empire of the Sun" by Williams.

I mean, you could have just listened to both and had the best day of listening ever!

I mean if we're doing that then why didn't I also listen to Godzilla and Romeo and Juliet and Jupiter Ascending and all my other #2s and #3s? Why have any rules?

Nope, never got all the Hobbit scores.

Yes! Got the deluxe Matrix last September to complete the set, and then they went and made another one haha. Guess I could buy that score too, it was pretty good.

I need to give The Burbs another try. Gave it one listen and...there was a lot to take in haha.

Its actually quite hilarious how Jerry pokes fun at his score for Patton and his horror movies, but you do need to be in the right mindset.

Since one is a Dreamworks animated series, I'm going to guess another and go with Kung-Fu Panda.

> What are you listening to?

Started the day with some Arnold Bond scores:

Tomorrow Never Dies
The World is Not Enough (expanded)

I'm also listening to the expanded How To Train Your Dragon 2 score. Glad I was able to get the physical release, since it's my favorite of the series.
