Easy topic this week: what are some films that make you think of where you live, either currently or in the past. It can be because it was filmed in those locations, or because it was set there. Your call.

Here's a few of mine:

1. Rudy
This one isn't really for where I lived, but more for where some of my relatives live in Michigan, which is very much in the same style shown in the opening of the film. In fact, my dad worked in a steel mill for a short time before attending college, much like Rudy.

2. 8 Mile
Another Michigan connection, but mainly because the suburb my family moved to when I started college was between 10 and 11 mile. The movie name always makes me think of that neighborhood, even though it's at least 30 minutes outside the city of Detroit portrayed in the film.

3. Heartbreakers
A film mostly forgotten these days (although I did see in mentioned a few times after Ray Liotta's recent passing), back when there was still a chance that Jennifer Love Hewitt would be a Hollywood leading lady. This was actually being filmed in West Palm Beach, Florida back when I lived there, and I remember hearing on the radio how some roads were shut down for filming.

4. The Florida Project
This is the small indie movie from a few years ago about a bunch of kids living in an old motel outside the Disney World property. I actually live pretty far from this area of Orlando, but in terms of recent films it's the only one I can recall taking place here.

Any films from your home town/city/country that bring back memories for you?
