• Now Playing: Howl's Moving Castle - Hisaishi

Real busy again. I do have a Hisaishi playlist I haven't listened to in a while. I tend to enjoy listening to full albums for his stuff, but today this should fit the bill. Starting off with "Howl's Moving Castle", nice.

What are you listening to?

Elmer Bernstein. Heavy Metal. A bit disjointed due to the nature of the film, but still a really fun score. And the theme for the "Taarna" segment is one of my all-time favorites.

Really love this one, and the follow up "Heavy Metal 2000" by Frederic TALGORN is also a great score. Check it out if you're not familiar with it yet, you will not regret it !

Busy day as well, but I did good use of my early morning with 2 scores I recently acquired:
- Star Wars: Shadows of the Empire by Joel McNEELY
- Hamlet by Patrick DOYLE

Watched this film as a kid- years later, realized it was my first (in context) Powell score.

Mine would have probably been Shrek, my first one of him on his own was probably Ice Age 2. I did watch Evolution with my dad and sister and I loved the exuberant nature of the score, particularly the fire truck sequence, just really fun, upbeat music and one of my favourites from Powell.

Gods of Egypt - Beltrami
Seems like one of the last times Beltrami got a really big film to sink his teeth into. That's a shame because he's pretty good with them.

25th Hour - Blanchard
My favorite from Blanchard. Great film too.

The Ghost and the Darkness - Goldsmith
The blu-ray was finally released this year, so it gave me an excuse to revisit the film and score. The film isn't without faults but I still find it entertaining, and Goldsmith's score really fits well with the film.
