I’ve been taking a smidgen of a breather from all the Christopher Young scores – I’ve already reviewed 34 of them! – so I figured why not rip off Riley’s rambles and talk about what I’ve been listening to/thinking about/other stuff.

- I am so happy that the board seems to be loving “The Time Traveler’s Wife” as much as I am. When I first heard it and realized no one had posted about it on the board or in the FB group, I assumed that I would be the only one banging the drum for it… and that it would be long forgotten by the year’s end. It deserves all the kudos it is getting and it’s still in my top ten for the year – if you haven’t listened yet, you must!

- Speaking of Top 10… I think “The Railway Children Return” sits at the top of mine right now. I can’t stop listening. Just astonishing stuff.

- “Prehistoric Planet” is my #2, by the way.

- The “Up” lifts in “Mrs. Harris Goes To Washington” is so annoying that it lowers the score an entire star for me. So fucking annoying.

- So I’m thinking that for my next Odyssey, I will be putting replacement scores against the original in a head-to-head battle to the death. One will win, one will be shamed for all of eternity! Thoughts?

- Is this season of “The Orville” the best single season of a “Star Trek” series since “Deep Space Nine’s” heyday? And yes, I’m including “Strange New Worlds’” first season in this ranking.

- “Pennyworth: Season Two’s” first half is a real banger. It’s Lorne Balfe scoring it as if he were scoring episodes of the original “Mission: Impossible” series – I adore the retro feel.

- Oh yeah, my Christopher Young Odyssey. The biggest discovery for me so far has been “Flowers in the Attic.” I know I wrote it there, but if you’ve continued to avoid it… you must listen.

- Speaking of Young, I was listening to the Expanded “Hannibal” score and he really taps into that Young vein there, finding the perfect balance between orchestral, atmospheric and just plain horror. I wish the expansion was available to purchase, because it turns the score from four stars into a five star masterpiece.

- “Ms. Marvel” > “Moon Knight.” Yeah, I said it and I’m not taking it back.

- I need to jump on the love train for “Paws of Fury” and “DC League of Super Pets.” Both are SO MUCH FUN.

- Finally, listen to all those foreign Patrick Doyle scores you downloaded but never bothered with. They are all great. I promise.
