I don't think Mike was implicating MMUK as a whole, Jon. This stuff goes on everywhere, regardless of site ownership. There just happens to be an active thread about the disparate board technologies at the MMUK forum, which is probably why Mike used it as an example. No worries.

The irony of all this discontent with the old 2000 forum technologies at Filmtracks is that it drives me nuts, too, which is one reason why I don't participate on my own site frequently anymore. I don't blame people for finding other venues with more current software. Just because something exists as it does at Filmtracks doesn't mean that I care for it. In fact, I'm irritated by over 90% of my own site when I look at it.

So I understand why people complain about the site. My problems with their complaints are in the context, phrasing, and redundancy of them. It's like calling the power company to complaint that the power is out in your entire ZIP code. They already know about the problem, and continuously telling them about it (or complaining) just pisses them off.
