"...given the quality of the scores that have been released so far this year, it's not difficult to fathom that Lady in the Water is the best score of the year (so far, at least)."

Aw, c'mon now... it hasn't been all that bad. Maybe I'm just too forgiving, but I've admired and enjoyed quite a few scores released this year. "Nanny McPhee", "Firewall", "M:I:III", "Superman Returns", "X-Men: The Last Stand", "The Da Vinci Code", "V for Vendetta", "The Promise", "The Omen"... I'd say we're ticking along pretty well, for being at the halfway point. And we still haven't gotten to some of the heavy hitters for this year, like Elfman and Horner... When it's all said and done, I suspect 2006 will have been a pretty solid year for film music. Can't wait to hear "Lady in the Water", and I hear "Monster House" is pretty good, too.

Back at ya later
