Does anyone know, why Zimmer and Badelt didnīt use the original theme song from the Disneyland Attraction in their scores ? Come on, itīs a classic! Iīd love to hear a full brass statement of "A Pirateīs life for me" popping up somewhere in the score... (well, perharps alan silvestri would have done a respectful musical treatment to the original rideīs song...)

anyway - there are some video games in the potc franchise, which seam to have also orchestral scores... Does anyone know whether these soundtracks use the original theme ?

Maybe some obscure licensing issue? It's weird how these things work sometimes.

But I'm with you, a huge orchestral version of that ditty would have been awesome indeed! I'm at least glad they paid homage at the beginning of the first movie, though, with the little lullaby-thingy.

I still have hopes that Zimmer or whoever "composes" the third score will surprise us with a full blown orchestral version of the original "Yo Ho" song. That would be wonderful. Knowing zimmer though, if we get anything, it will be a synth barrage with orchestra drowned out. But, hopes stay alive, right?

You don't suppose there's a chance they'll get someone else to do the score, do you? The makers of the X-Men trilogy didn't seem to have a problem doing that.
