What's wrong with you, Ford? The man made a QUERY about the whole CIC thing... he was ASKING us if we recollected the seeing the same thing. He wasn't "out to get you". In fact, you could twist it around and say that he was trying to save you face and trouble.

He was very polite about it. Just because you don't like the possibility that it might be true, DON'T SHOOT THE MESSENGER!
