Hello Filmtracks.
My name's Nick May and have been a film music fan for around 10 years or so. My first film music related purchase was a 4 disk John Williams collection. Other scores that helped me get into film music include: Trevor Jones' Around the World in 80 days, Trevor Rabin's National Treasure and Alan Silvestri's The Mummy Returns.
These days I've become rather fanboyish of John Powell and consider him to be one of most talented composers working today. His score for How to Train Your Dragon is one of my favourites of all time.
As long as I remember, I've been interested in composing music (particularly electronic music due to my lack of any performance skills), and started out using very early dance music creation software. From this I studied A-Level Music Technology and then progressed to completing a degree in Creative Music Technology. I'm proud to say that I'm now a full time music professional with my work being split between being a music technician at a local upper school and as a freelance sound designer and music composer.
